我国10年间149市人口减少
China’s population grew modestly over the past decade, but nearly half its major cities lost residents due to a variety of factors, data from the latest national census showed.
我国每十年实施一次人口普查，去年实施的第七次人口普查数据显示，虽然过去十年里我国人口总数小幅增长，但受各种因素影响，我国近半的主要城市出现了人口减少。
Of China’s 330-plus prefecture-level cities, 149－or 44.7%－had smaller populations last year than in 2010, according to the once-a-decade census, which was conducted last year.
我国共有330多个地级行政区，其中149市的人口数量与2010年相比出现下降，占比44.7%。
The cities with shrinking populations were scattered across 23 of the 31 provincial-level regions on the Chinese mainland, with most of them in northeastern, central and western China.
人口下降的149市分布在23个省级行政区，主要来自东北、中部及西部。
People moving to other places to seek better-paid jobs or marriage opportunities were major reasons for population declines, along with falling birthrates, said experts.
专家称，除了出生率下降的因素，这些城市人口减少的主要原因是：为找到更高薪工作或更好找对象而迁去别处。
The nationwide trend was most noticeable in the three northeastern provinces－Liaoning, Jilin and Heilongjiang. More than 30 cities in the region saw their populations fall.
东北三省——辽宁、吉林和黑龙江的人口减少趋势最为显著，该区域内超过30个城市出现人口减少。

>China to make blacklist of karaoke songs
卡拉OK将建违规曲目清单
China will create a blacklist for karaoke songs, banning those that contain harmful content at karaoke venues across the country, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism said on Tuesday. On the list are songs containing content that endangers national unity, sovereignty or territorial integrity; violates China’s religious policies and spreads cults and superstitions; and advocates obscenity, gambling, violence and drug-related crimes or instigating crimes, according to a set of interim regulations issued by the ministry.
文化和旅游部8月10日印发《歌舞娱乐场所卡拉OK音乐内容管理暂行规定》，根据规定，文旅部将建立全国卡拉OK音乐违规曲目清单制度，歌舞娱乐场所不得出现使用含有违法违规内容的卡拉OK音乐，包括：危害国家统一、主权或者领土完整的；违反国家宗教政策，宣扬邪教、迷信的；宣扬淫秽、赌博、暴力以及与毒品有关的违法犯罪活动，或者教唆犯罪的等。
The regulations will take effect on Oct 1, 2021.
本规定将于2021年10月1日起施行。

>Sales of new-energy passenger vehicles soar
7月新能源乘用车零售22.2万辆
China saw a surge in sales of new-energy passenger vehicles in July, industry data showed.
乘联会近日发布的7月销量数据显示，我国7月份新能源乘用车销量激增。
The retail sales of new-energy passenger cars reached 222,000 units, up 169.4% year on year, according to the China Passenger Car Association.
7月，国内新能源乘用车零售量相较去年同期增长了169.4%，达到22.2万辆。
The wholesale volume of new-energy passenger vehicles grew 202.9% year on year to reach 246,000 units.
7月新能源乘用车批发量在持续增长，当月批发量达到24.6万辆，较去年同期增长了202.9%。
BYD, Tesla China, SAIC-GM-Wuling, SAIC Passenger Vehicle Branch and GAC Aion all sold more than 10,000 units of new-energy passenger vehicles last month.
其中7月批发销量过万的车企有比亚迪、特斯拉中国、上汽通用五菱、上汽乘用车、广汽埃安。
In July, China’s retail sales of passenger vehicles dropped 6.2% year on year to 1.5 million units.
7月国内狭义乘用车零售量为150万辆，同比下降6.2%。

>WHO to test three new drugs
世卫组织启动”团结试验+”
The World Health Organization (WHO) on Wednesday announced that it will test three new drugs for COVID-19, which will involve thousands of researchers at more than 600 hospitals in 52 countries.
当地时间8月11日，世卫组织宣布将新增测试3种药物，用于治疗新冠肺炎。这项测试将在全球52个国家的600余座医院内进行。
According to a press release issued by WHO on Wednesday, the three new drugs are artesunate, a treatment for severe malaria; imatinib, a drug for certain cancers; and infliximab, a treatment for immune system disorders such as Crohn’s Disease.
世卫组织在8月11日的新闻稿中称，3种药物分别是用于治疗严重疟疾的青蒿琥酯、用于治疗某种癌症的药物伊马替尼、以及用于治疗免疫系统紊乱如克罗恩病的英夫利西单抗。
These therapies were selected by an independent expert panel for their potential in reducing the risk of death in hospitalized COVID-19 patients, and they were donated for the trial by their manufacturers, WHO said.
这些药物是由一个独立专家小组根据其在降低新冠肺炎住院患者死亡风险方面的潜力选择的，药物由制造商为试验捐赠。
“Finding more effective and accessible therapeutics for COVID-19 patients remains a critical need, and WHO is proud to lead this global effort,” said WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
